It doesn’t take much to create a successful gathering if you have a fun theme. The movie Ford vs Ferrari inspired us to do a themed dinner while reviewing the movie. So gather up some car parts for staging, create a fun menu centered around the movie, invited some fun friends and have fun!

It’s been an interesting 2020 Summer as we all might say. So many things going on around us and how we find our new normal with practicing social distance, being in quarantine and what settles our mind. Boating for many years has been our get away that offers both relaxing and social distancing.
Once on the water, we enjoy watching other boats and a name that might be associated. We giggle when we see fun statements, names, icons and often try to imagine why they selected the name they did.
I thought it might be fun to read a few names we have seen on our travels. Our boats have personality, keep us safe and get us from one place to another. So when your out boating next time and you notice boat names ~ I hope you too smile and knowing there is love, comfort and personality put in floating fun.
What’s your boat name or fun ones you have ran into?
We all are creatures of habit in one way or another. As we go through life, we never know when our comfort zone may change nor what it might bring to our table. Change can bring scared thoughts, excitement and fulfillment when we step out of our box.
Being the owner of Blue Star Collections for the past 17+years, it has become my little comfort box by producing occasional sales at my shop located in Superior, Iowa. After hosting over 50 shows, every time I still get butterflies right before I open my doors. Seeing my “Tribe” stand out waiting to come in to shop still fills my heart with excitement.
In these past two years there has been something tapping me on my shoulder telling me to “expand my horizons”. After many months of searching out new ideas and answers to continue my Blue Star Collections, blogging kept coming to the forefront. Why not tap into my expertise and talents and share them with my “Tribe” through the world of Blogging. My passions have always been meeting people through décor, travel and food. Three fun things for me to chat about since we all love to eat, pack our suitcase and keep our nest updated.
We all have a set of Binoculars, our eyes, that we use each day seeing new things. My goal as we created The Blue Binocular is in my hopes to utilize this blog and share my travels, décor ideas and find some good foods along the way.
So, I welcome you to the Blue Binocular! Lets have fun exploring paths together!
It’s Mother’s Day 2020!!! Happy Mom’s Day to all you amazing women! My name is Kelli Johanson; nice to e-meet you! In full disclosure, I have hacked my Mom, “Blue Star Beth”‘s blog! This is her Mom’s day gift…I don’t believe in gifting anything that would sit on a shelf (including food) at this point in my life; so, I am gifting words – words for the entire world to read forever and ever…because what better platform to brag about my mom than on her very own blog! So, without further ado, please meet Beth – my Mom – the reason for my season, the breath in my life, the yin to my yang…one of the most amazing women I know. Let the bragging begin…for those who think you know Beth – well, you really have no idea…here are just a few of the MANY qualities she radiates:
…and OH SO MANY MORE! But, I digress…bottom line is that Beth Bright (aka “Blue Star Beth”) is one helluva lady…from the inside-out…from the top-to-bottom…her giggles make me giggle, her advice make me go “hmmmm”, her…her…her…again, I digress. :).
If you’ve made it this far through the post, then you’re deserving of knowing her next venture – The Blue Binocular ~ Blue Stars next Collection, where Beth will personally lens (pun intended) you with all of the behind the scenes moments of her critically acclaimed BLUE STAR and just how much that sucker has been a beacon of light, hope, and love throughout small-town Iowa and beyond…it’s made headline news…it’s weathered storms…it’s – again, I digress…just stay tuned!
In closing – Mom, this one’s for you – as The Blue Binoculars very first blog contributor, I want to leave you with these closing words of enlightenment, encouragement, and another “e” verb-word I can’t think of at the top of my head; but, because we decorate in 3’s, we should write accordingly (see, readers – your very first “lens” HA)!
Mom – I love you – thank you for instilling in me all of your absolutely jaw-dropping-amazing characteristics. I’m not nearly the woman you are (yet) but in time I’ll get there…should probably start by buying matching silverware…regardless, you have many more lives to touch, and jaws to drop…you’re just beginning…so, type away – your Blue Bincoluar is patiently awaiting – and so are its viewers. I’m here to support you every peck of the way (no, you don’t type like that it just sounds good). Kell
